It's been months in private beta, accessible only to a select few (even I didn't get a Golden Ticket as much as I begged Matt).
But irregardless of that, the Automattic designed VaultPress backup solution for your self-hosted WordPress blog is finally exiting private beta.

Fresh on the heels of WordCampSF many of us users, enthusiasts, business people and developers are anxiously waiting the forthcoming major release to WordPress.

Ever wonder what other stores are charging for a particular product? This iPhone app lets you scan the bar code to check other store's pricing! Red Laser by Occipital lets you scan bar codes and check prices from popular retail outlets. Works on a number of products (I've tested a bunch in this video) and is pretty easy to scan, even with unsteady hands.

Ever wonder what it would be like to post blog entries, edit your pages and approve comments from anywhere in the world? WordPress, an app on the app store from Automattic, allows you to do just that.

In this video, Erin Blaskie demos the iPhone app by Stand Alone, Inc. called "Crosswords." While it's a bit pricey in the app store (priced at $9.99), this app downloads crosswords daily from major newspapers and puts them into an easy-to-use format. Between touch and type, you can speed through crosswords so that your finish time can be Tweeted out to your followers.
