In this video, Erin Blaskie demos the iPhone app by Stand Alone, Inc. called “Crosswords.” While it’s a bit pricey in the app store (priced at $9.99), this app downloads crosswords daily from major newspapers and puts them into an easy-to-use format. Between touch and type, you can speed through crosswords so that your finish time can be Tweeted out to your followers.
From their website:
Download new daily puzzles from newspapers including the New York Times, the Wall Street Journal, the Village Voice, and many more! Crosswords for iPhone also supports paid puzzle subscriptions, allowing you to download puzzles from secure websites directly to your iPhone.

Loved the review. I only have one complaint and it pertains to the methods used by ethusiasm for reviews of iPhone apps. I have seen a few reviews with YouTube videos however the videos aren’t formatted to be viewed on the iPhone. Not a huge deal but I feel that if you are trying to appeal to the iPhone audience and you are by reviewing iPhone apps you should also ensure that your videos are viewable on the iPhone. Thanks for another great review. I’m going to download the app now.

Hi Earl! This video was just uploaded this morning (about 30 minutes ago) but I do believe once they’ve processed, they are viewable on the iPhone. Are you going through the YouTube app or just using the browser?
We have accounts at Vimeo and Blip.tv so maybe we can work something out where we post the videos on the website using that tool and still put it on YouTube for that community.
Great tip though! Let me investigate and make it better!
