Wow I’m glad you reviewed the powermat, the ads for it are VERY misleading! In the ads they act like you just put any device on the mat and it charges when really you have to plug in an adapter like anything else. Also, if you aren’t charging iphones or blackberries you would have to buy additional adapters to charge more than one device right?

Erin – another interesting and useful episode! Loved your PowerMat review, and the way you showed it in action. Also happy to see the Flip HD on the list – just bought 4 as gifts. This is such a nice format – passing it along for others to view.

I have a thing for Christmas commercials. My all-time favorite came out about 10 years ago. It’s for Publix, the best grocery store here in the South.

    You must check it out!

To your list of Geeky Gifts of 2009:
Getting an iPhone application for Christmas is a pretty awesome Christmas gift.

    Laura,

I thought the very same. It’d be awesome if you could just toss anything on it and have it charge up. It’s the fine print on the Power Mat that kills ya. That and the 900 adapters that it comes with.

I was actually considering on buying it myself until I noticed that maybe one or two electronics that I own will be useful with it.

Great Show. I actually bought 4 of the Lil’ Bit Kit from IdeaPaint after you talked about it on Ask Erin Live this week. I’m going to do the wall that is behind me when I do Ask Jonathan Live. Unfortunately, they were having a holiday promotion so my stuff is currently backordered. I’ll do a video of us painting the wall once we get it. Again, great show!!

David: Thanks so much for the recommendations on the gadgets!! I’ll be sure to check those out :)

Laura: Yes, the ads definitely made it seem pretty amazing but to be honest, I still like the idea. Here’s why — I have two iPhone users in the house and with the little backs, we can both toss our iPhones onto it. We keep it in a high traffic area and it’s nice to not have to look for the Apple cords and hook them up to our computers and make it messy. Yeah, it’s not as perfect as the ads look but I like it thus far :)

Donna: Thank you!! I hope to see you back for another episode soon :)

Lindsey: As soon as I hit submit on these comments, I’m going to check out that commercial!! LOL

Chris: It is limited to the type of technology although it will charge anything with a regular or mini USB port on it. Including bluetooth devices.

Jonathan: I can not WAIT to see Ideapaint in action! I’m going to order some too and was thinking about painting a part of my desk surface… haha

Awesome as always! Now I know what to get the hubby for x-mas. He is one with his I-phone.
